I just removed 657 people from my email list yesterday.
Some of you will probably think Iām crazy while others not.
Let me prove you Iām not!
Starting a newsletter is truly the best you can do for your business & that's what this newsletter is all about.
Since the beginning of the year, I sent 12 newsletters after disappearing for over a month.
My goal? Reactivating my list.
Making people aware Iām back & ready to deliver the goods.
Because, we all are subscribed to many newsletters & sometimes people are sooooo inconsistent that we forgot them & are surprised when we receive an email⦠Not the best feeling, donāt do that to your audience š
Why have I removed as many people as live in my village?
Once I have sent a couple of them earlier this month, I checked my stats:
Between 30 & 40% open rate. Which is good.
But this also means: 60 - 70% of my subscribers werenāt opening my emails.
It was messing my deliverability (your goal is to avoid the promotion tab or the spam folders of your subscribers).
The more people open your emails, the better is it.
Itās always healthy to lose followers, to remove some. Itās people who will not buy anything from you.
Your goal must be always to talk with people you resonates with you, your mission, your values
Why starting one?
Social media is unpredictable.
You can be banned, suspended & your content is never seen by all your followers.
But itās not a surprise. Itās reheated here š
What I want to emphasize:
Newsletter is the BEST way to foster a deeper relationship with your community.
Itās the format where you can:
be more you
be more personal
make them feel apart
hare your vulnerabilities
If you ask me, itās perfect to build a stronger personal brand.
Itās your rules. You are free to do whatever you want.
There is no two same newsletters:
it can be short or long
it can be plain text or visual
you can send 1 per day or 1 per week
it can be pure value (even if itās not what I recommend)
it can be only selling (even if itās not what I recommend ever)
Money is in the list
Nobody on social media thinks āhey Iām in this compulsive buying mood today, letās buy everything I seeā š
People here are much more willing to be entertained, considered than giving you their credit card.
Email is more personal.
You are in their inbox, in their privacy.
You are in their inbox along with their booking reservation for their next vacation
You have reached another level of trust so donāt mess with it.
There is a rule of thumb saying āEach emailĀ subscriberĀ is worthĀ $1 perĀ monthā
But the reality is you can make much more from it if you have gather an engaged community of your target audience

How to gather your list?
Starting an email list is easier than you think, you just need 2 things :
you need a really awesome lead magnet ā something free that people will opt in to get & giving you their email address
you need a tool to gather this people ā you can use Gumroad, systeme io⦠there is a ton of free tool
But to be sure to make a good lead magnet, you really need to know by heart your ideal client! (itās another email coming soon!)
You should start it the soonest as possible & promote your lead magnet.
This can be by doing a giveaway, adding it to your bio, below each of your contentā¦
Itās how I have done it & you can also partner with friends that can promote your free product.
But please donāt do another checklist people are tired of it & no 5min Loom videos
It must create a AHAH, a revelation in your audience ā again people trust you to give their email address donāt mess with it
Now you have some people in your list & this is truly amazing!
I have sent my first newsletter to only 28 people at that time (including my husband, my other email address & my sister) sooooo thatās not a lot
But you have to practice as soon as possible
It took me over 2h to write a single newsletter & now 30 minutes from the idea to scheduling
So this is your sign to do it!
Choose your frequency & start do it
Even if itās 2 per month, itās already amazing. & donāt forget sending 4 per week & nothing for months is not consistency!
Stick with something that works for you.
